We are looking for a Software Tester / Test Engineer to join a long-term Risk IT programme supporting the development and validation of a complex central risk management platform within the financial markets sector.The platform supports key functions including margin calculation, risk monitoring, stress testing and collateral-related processes.The role is based in Prague on a hybrid working model and will focus primarily on backend and maintenance testing within a technically complex environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform functional and technical testing of backend applications.Maintain and update existing automated test scripts.Use Python and SQL to support testing, validation and issue investigation.Work daily within Linux command-line environments.Carry out regression, integration and maintenance testing.Investigate defects and technical issues across complex systems.Manage test activities and defects using Jira.Use Git / GitHub for version control and test-script management.Support testing within cloud-based environments.Work across a continuous flow of smaller change requests and maintenance tickets.Required Skills & Experience2+ years of commercial software testing experience.Backend application testing experience.Test automation experience.Practical Python and SQL knowledge.Strong Linux command-line experience.Git / GitHub and Jira.Experience with cloud technologies, ideally Google Cloud Platform.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good written and spoken English.Ability to investigate technical issues independently.DesirableFinancial markets, trading, clearing or exchange experience.Knowledge of financial products such as equities, bonds, futures or options.Experience testing systems with demanding requirements around reliability, availability, latency, throughput and scalability.LocationPrague – HybridDuring onboarding, 3 days per week in the office will be required.Sourced from LinkedIn.
