As an AWS GenAI Engineer at Cognizant, you will take on the exciting challenge of architecting and configuring a robust, AWS-based Generative AI platform from the ground up — bridging proof-of-concept innovation with full-scale production deployment.You will be at the forefront of defining how intelligent, AI-driven applications are built, secured, and optimized, directly shaping outcomes for our clients in a fast-moving, high-impact environment.How You Will Make An ImpactAs an AWS GenAI Engineer, you will be a valued member of our Technology & Engineering team[1], collaborating closely with solution architects, data engineers, and AI specialists to deliver transformative GenAI capabilities at scale.In This Role, You WillConfigure Amazon Bedrock models and inference profiles to power scalable, production-grade GenAI applicationsBuild and manage Bedrock Knowledge Bases, including end-to-end metadata ingestion pipelines into PostgreSQL and Bedrock Knowledge BaseImplement vector indexing and semantic search capabilities to enable highly relevant, context-aware AI responsesDevelop seamless API integrations between AWS services and the GenAI application, leveraging API Gateway and LambdaOptimize security posture, including IAM roles, networking configurations, and secrets management to ensure compliance and data protectionMonitor and optimize LLM performance and costs using CloudWatch and AWS-native tooling to drive efficiency at scaleAt Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations.[1]What You Must Have To Be ConsideredProven hands-on experience with AWS services, including Amazon Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, and CloudWatchPractical knowledge of Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases and the ability to configure and manage them end-to-endSolid experience with PostgreSQL and building metadata ingestion pipelines for AI/GenAI workloadsProficiency in Python for developing backend logic, automation scripts, and API integrationsDemonstrated experience in GenAI application deployment, including vector indexing, semantic search configuration, and LLM cost optimizationThese Will Help You Stand OutExperience transitioning GenAI proof-of-concept (POC) projects into production environmentsFamiliarity with advanced Amazon Bedrock inference profile configurations and model fine-tuningKnowledge of AWS networking best practices and secrets management (e.g., AWS Secrets Manager)Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure costs at scale using AWS cost management toolsWe're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways.
