About UsAt Prospecter Ventures, our mission is to transform how people engage with technology in the modern era. Our product leverages cutting-edge large language models to make sophisticated financial research and decision-making personalised, accessible, and affordable for everyday investors — while strictly adhering to EU data-protection standards (GDPR/EUDPR). We're pre-launch, lean, and building something we care deeply about getting right.RoleWe're looking for a mid/senior, hands-on full-stack engineer to help us build toward launch: shipping new features end to end across our Python backend and React frontend, multi-user product, and integrating the third-party services the product depends on. You'd be part of our core engineering team at a pivotal, pre-launch moment, working directly with the founders. We're open on the engagement model — freelance or employed — and will shape it around the right person. The setupWe're pre-launch and lean, with a working product built. Your tasks will be a mix of new-feature building, commercialisation (multi-user, billing), and third-party integration — with real ownership and a direct line to the founders. Whether you'd rather work as a freelancer or come on as an employee, we're flexible and will shape the arrangement together. What you'll do• Build new features end to end, across a FastAPI / Python backend and a React / TypeScript frontend.• Take single-user features to multi-tenant: user accounts, data isolation, authentication, and subscription billing — the commercialisation foundation for launch.• Integrate the services the product runs on — banking / broker aggregation, market data, filings, notifications, voice, and more — cleanly and reliably.• Work across our data pipelines: scheduled jobs, LLM-powered summarisation and sentiment, caching, and persistence.• Review and harden already-built features (originally built for a single use case) so they're ready for a commercial, multi-user product.• Collaborate closely with the founders and rest of the team on product and architectureOur stack• Backend: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Alembic.• Frontend: React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind, React Query.Who this is forA mid/senior, genuinely hands-on engineer who likes owning features end to end and is energised by taking a lean, pre-launch product to commercial readiness on a small, founder-led team — rather than filling a narrow slot in a large org.Qualifications• A strong track record building and shipping production software across both a Python backend and a React / TypeScript frontend.• Solid with FastAPI (or a similar async framework), PostgreSQL, and SQLAlchemy / Alembic.• Fluent in React + TypeScript + Tailwind, and comfortable in data-dense interfaces.• Experienced integrating third-party APIs and building or operating scheduled data pipelines with sensible error handling.• Comfortable evolving a codebase from single-use to multi-tenant — authentication, data isolation, and billing.• Pragmatic and ownership-minded: you ship, and can carry a feature from idea to production with little oversight.• Excellent written and verbal English.Added benefits• Experience in fintech, market data, or financial APIs.• EU fintech / open-banking integration experience (PSD2 aggregation, brokerage).• Hands-on with LLM / embedding provider APIs.• Payments (e.g. Stripe) and multi-tenant SaaS experience.• Data-privacy / GDPR-aware engineering.• An eye for design and UX detail.• A genuine interest in investing and financial markets.• Fluency in German.Location, legibility and work environmentBased in Berlin. Candidates must hold EU/EEA or Swiss citizenship, or an existing right to work in Germany. This is a hybrid role, hence candidates should be based in the Berlin region.
