For a leading high-tech technology company, we are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer / Designer who wants to contribute to challenging projects within the semiconductor, analytical and medical equipment industries.You will work on embedded software ranging from C++ applications on Linux-based platforms to real-time and bare-metal systems. Depending on your experience, your focus may include software architecture, Qt-based interfaces, communication protocols, state machines, functional safety and technical system design. You will work from Delft and at customer locations throughout the Randstad area.Your responsibilitiesDeveloping and testing embedded software in C and C++ for advanced high-tech systems.Building and optimizing applications on Linux-based and real-time platforms.Designing modular, maintainable and scalable embedded software architectures.Developing graphical interfaces in Qt for machine and system control.Designing and implementing state machines and real-time logic.Working with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr and Embedded Linux.Integrating communication protocols including UART, SPI, CAN and I2C.Creating automated tests, for example using Python.Debugging and analysing complex embedded systems.Contributing to system architecture, technical roadmaps and engineering decisions.Collaborating closely with electronics, mechatronics and software engineers within multidisciplinary teams.Depending on your seniority, applying Functional Safety standards such as IEC 61508, SIL and MISRA guidelines.Company profileYou will join a leading technology company that develops complex high-tech systems for customers within the semiconductor, analytical and medical equipment industries.The organisation combines expertise in software, electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, mathematics and assembly to develop complete technological solutions. You will work from Delft and at customer locations throughout the Randstad area, collaborating within multidisciplinary engineering teams on technically challenging products and machines.Your profileA completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in embedded or technical software development.Strong hands-on experience with C and/or C++ in embedded environments.Experience with Linux, Embedded Linux and/or real-time operating systems.Knowledge of software architecture, Design Patterns and maintainable software design.Experience with Qt is considered an advantage.Knowledge of hardware and communication protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN and I2C is a strong advantage.For senior or designer-level positions, you preferably have 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.Experience with bare-metal development, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Functional Safety, IEC 61508, SIL or MISRA is considered a strong advantage.Good understanding of real-time systems, performance and software quality.Fluent in both Dutch and English.Experience within semiconductor, medical, analytical instrumentation or another high-tech environment is considered an advantage.Don't meet every requirement, but do have strong experience in C/C++, embedded systems, Linux or real-time software development?
