Senior Data Engineer – Consumer Data PlatformLocation: Paris, France – hybridContract: 6-month freelance contract with extensionStart date: ASAPThe OpportunityWe are looking for two Senior Data Engineers to support the continued development and improvement of an established Consumer Data Platform.The platform is built using Python, SQL, dbt, Snowflake and Microsoft Azure, and enables consumer data to support downstream marketing and customer-focused use cases.With the main platform now established, the focus is on improving its quality, reliability and maintainability. This includes resolving technical debt, strengthening architecture, improving data pipelines and ensuring the platform can continue to scale.This is a hands-on position for someone who takes ownership of technical challenges and proactively works with the wider team to deliver solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and improve data pipelines using Python and SQLBuild and maintain data transformations using dbtWork with Snowflake and Azure-based data environmentsImprove the reliability and performance of the Consumer Data PlatformIdentify and resolve bugs, technical debt and platform weaknessesContribute to data architecture and technical design decisionsInvestigate issues across upstream and downstream systemsTake ownership of technical problems through to resolutionCollaborate with engineers, architects and business stakeholdersImprove engineering standards, testing and software qualityCommunicate blockers clearly and proactively seek solutionsRequired ExperienceStrong commercial experience as a Senior Data EngineerAdvanced Python and SQL skillsHands-on experience with dbtStrong Snowflake experienceExperience working within Microsoft AzureExperience designing and developing modern data platformsGood understanding of data architecture, modelling and pipelinesAbility to work independently and manage technical prioritiesStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsA proactive approach with clear evidence of ownershipExperience working with consumer, customer, retail or marketing data would be beneficial but is not essential.Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate will be more than a ticket-focused engineer.
