About the roleOne of our clients is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build and evolve the payment infrastructure behind one of the Netherlands’ most widely used digital applications.The platform supports more than 11 million users and processes real financial transactions at scale. Reliability, security and performance are therefore essential, with no room for error.In this role, you will work across architecture, solution design, development, deployment and continuous optimisation. You will influence technical direction, improve engineering standards and support other engineers in their growth. The position covers both frontend and backend development, with a strong focus on scalable, resilient and cloud-native payment solutions.Your responsibilitiesYou will:Design and develop end-to-end payment solutionsContribute to architecture and technical decision-makingBuild and maintain scalable microservices in a production environmentDevelop cloud-native services on AWSWork across frontend and backend applicationsImprove reliability, resilience, performance and observabilityContribute to secure transaction flows in a regulated payments environmentRaise engineering standards through reviews, technical guidance and knowledge sharingSupport and mentor fellow engineersTake ownership from solution design through deployment and production optimisationWork with GitHub-based delivery processes and automated CI/CD workflowsUse AI-assisted engineering tools as part of daily developmentCollaborate closely with engineers, architects, product teams and business stakeholdersWhat we are looking forSenior-level experience working on large-scale digital products or platformsStrong experience within payments, banking or fintechKnowledge of payment processing, transaction flows, PSD2, acquiring, payment gateways or digital walletsDeep experience designing and operating microservices architectures in productionStrong hands-on AWS experience, including: CloudFormation, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, SQSProficiency in several of the following technologies: TypeScript, Node.js, React, Java, Spring Boot, AWS CDKExperience with GitHub Actions and modern automated delivery workflowsProfessional experience using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI coding toolsFamiliarity with Agentic Engineering or other AI-native software-development practicesStrong communication and stakeholder-management skillsAbility to challenge assumptions and turn complex requirements into practical technical solutionsWho you areYou are an experienced engineer who combines strong technical expertise with ownership and sound judgement.
