Overview: Position will actively participate in the regular creation and publishing of editorial copy, the harvesting and selection of user-created content, the development of new and compelling content and will create promotional channels to increase traffic, awareness, and frequency of visits and time spent by visitors. The position creates content that highlights and adds to the user experience and engagement around user-published multimedia content, including: videos, digital photography and graphic arts. Position will also provide input about systems for managing user content and influencing user behaviors around such content. Solid writing and editing skills are a must; position will be required to review the selection of featured user content, do light editing on digital photography and video, and regularly engage users in dialogues about their content.Skills Required: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience and/or education in print, video or online media is required. Project implementation with an eye towards timely delivery with fast, real-time reaction and turnaround within an ever-changing media environment. Creative capabilities with an eye for visualizing how content will appear in a multimedia environment. Ability to handle multiple and changing programming activities, priorities and projects. Must understand the online environment, be willing to work in a team environment with a positive attitude, good sense of humor and be comfortable in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Multimedia experience, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills all required. Adobe PhotoShop and HTML skills also required for this position. Skills Desired: Related background experience and/or education. Online publishing, web development or technical management skills. Excellent written, oral communication, and strong interpersonal skills. Familiarity with AOL desired with an in-depth understanding of how to communicate and share media online. Ideally this individual will be a former or active AOL member. Strong project- and time-management skills are required.
