Working closely with researchers and software engineers, you will build and improve internal tools and services that simplify workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance the overall research experience.Build and maintain backend services, APIs, automation tools, dashboards, and lightweight web applicationsDevelop internal tooling and self-service solutions that improve researcher productivityDeploy and operate internal applications using cloud technologies, containers, and CI/CDWork directly with researchers to understand their workflows and turn recurring pain points into practical engineering solutionsTroubleshoot issues across applications, infrastructure, development environments, and integrationsImprove documentation, onboarding, and internal knowledge sharingCollaborate with engineering teams to improve the usability, reliability, and adoption of internal platformsYour present skillset:Strong software engineering skills, preferably in PythonExperience building internal tools, APIs, automation, or web applicationsExperience using AI-assisted and agentic software development toolsFamiliarity with cloud environments, containers, deployment workflows, and CI/CDAbility to troubleshoot technical issues across applications and infrastructureClear written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersPragmatic problem-solving skills with a strong user-focused mindsetCuriosity and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and domainsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with researchersQRT is an equal opportunity employer.
