Our research field Dependable Systems Engineering (DSE), within the competence Unit Cyber Security & Communication Technologies, focuses on researching and developing methods, tools and standards for increasing, verifying and validating the dependability and trustworthiness of software and systems, from conception through certification to operation.Our ThreatGet team develops model-based methods and tools for cybersecurity threat analysis and risk assessment, from research concepts to an industrially used platform. We are looking for a colleague who co-leads our proposal and project activities together with the team lead, and brings the formal and algorithmic foundations that strengthen ThreatGet's methodological core.CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITYYou co-coordinate AIT's research proposals for national and European funding programmes (Horizon Europe, Chips JU, FFG).You shape our contributions, draft technical sections, plan effort and budgets, and liaise with consortium partners.You take on tasks and work package lead roles in running projects, including deliverables, reporting and partner coordination.You contribute to the method development of ThreatGet, AIT's model-based threat analysis and risk assessment platform, which is used in automotive and applied industrial systems. You strengthen its formal and algorithmic foundations, for example graph-based reasoning on system models, attack path analysis, and model transformation and composition.You translate project results and industrial needs into concepts that our development team brings into the platform.You publish your results and contribute to scientific and standardisation activities.You help shape new research directions, such as threat analysis for AI-enabled systems, which AIT is currently investigating.You contribute to shaping the group's research and project strategy and develop ideas for new research directions and projects.Your Qualifications As An Ingenious PartnerCompleted studies (at least MSc) in computer science or a related field; PhD or equivalent research experience is an advantageExperience in preparing competitive research proposals and delivering collaborative research projects, with the ability to take increasing responsibility for tasks, work packages and partner coordination. Experience in these areas is expected; a proven track record of leading research activities is an advantage.Insight into industrial needs, ideally through industry-facing projects or contactsExperience in cybersecurity risk assessment or threat modelling and familiarity with relevant standards and regulation (e.g. ISO/SAE 21434, IEC 62443, CRA) are an advantageScientific publications or an industrial project track record are an advantage.You bring the scientific and technical expertise to work independently on complex research challenges and are ready to take responsibility for research activities, project tasks and technical contributions.High level of commitment and ability to work in multidisciplinary teamsExcellent English skills (spoken & written); German is an advantageWhat To ExpectThe minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 68.152,--.
