Patients with hereditary fibrinogen disorders are clinically challenging due to unpredictable bleeding and thrombosis conditions. Current diagnostic tools do not identify patients at risk, and management remains largely opinion-based. This project aims to bridge expertise in fibrinogen biology, clinical phenotyping, mass spectrometry-based proteomics and fibrin network analysis to define the phenotype-specific molecular signatures underlying congenital fibrinogen disorders. You will combine plasma, fibrin clot and platelet proteomics with protein variant mapping, fibrinogen proteolysis assays, fibrin network structure analysis, genetic data and clinical characteristics from a well established clinical cohort of individuals with congenital fibrinogen disorders. We offer a diverse and multidisciplinary research environment. The Fibromics consortium brings together large international patient cohorts and leading researchers in hemostasis, proteomics, bioinformatics, and clinical hematology, including Dr. Alessandro Casini (Geneva, Switserland), Prof. Dr. Giancarlo Castaman (Florence, Italy), Dr. Saskia Schols (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) and Dr. Tomáš Šimurda (Martin, Slovakia). You will work alongside fundamental researchers, clinicians, data scientists and specialized laboratory staff, offering a unique combination of patient care, state of the art techniques and insight in the molecular mechanisms of congenital fibrinogen disorders.Candidate profile:We are looking for a candidate who is eager to excel as independent researcher while contributing to a collaborative team-science environment, working closely with clinicians, proteomics specialists and computational scientists, as well as fellow PhD and post-doctoral researchers.Specifically, we request:Recent PhD degree in a related field.Advanced expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, programming (e.g., R, Python) and statistical analysis.Analytical thinking, strong interest in protein biology and enthusiasm for biomedical data integration, including clinical and laboratory data, using machine learning and AI.Expertise in genomics and molecular biology is an advantage.Motivation to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment and excellent communication and writing skills in English. What We Offer:A post-doctoral position for the duration of at least 2 years within a highly collaborative and internationally visible research program.Mentorship from leading experts in hemostasis, proteomics, and data science.Advanced analytical technologies, including state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based proteomics, multi-omics, and computational platforms.Exposure to cutting-edge clinical research and contribution to large cohort studies of patients with congenital bleeding disorders.Participation in national and international conferences and scientific networks.Application:Please submit your CV, academic transcripts, a motivation letter and contact details for at least two references.More Information:Are you interested and do you have questions about the positions?
