Most of our team have a detailed Murex background (10 years +) and have occupied senior positions in the Murex vendor company before joining Fenixys.Role PurposeMigrating the database underlying Murex from Sybase to PostgreSQL. We are looking for an experienced contractor to support the migration and refactoring of Murex Perl scripts from Sybase to PostgreSQL, working closely with the internal team to accelerate delivery and ensure stable operation in the new environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyse existing Murex Perl scripts and their Sybase SQL dependencies.Adapt and refactor Perl scripts so they operate correctly with PostgreSQL.Translate and fine-tune SQL queries used by the Perl scripts from Sybase to PostgreSQL.Test and troubleshoot migrated scripts against the existing Sybase and new PostgreSQL environments.Collaborate with internal experts, share technical knowledge and support a smooth handover.Required ProfileStrong hands-on Perl scripting experience - essential.Senior profile with solid database and SQL expertise, preferably including both Sybase and PostgreSQL.Proven experience with database migrations, script refactoring, testing and troubleshooting.Murex and/or Financial Markets experience is strongly preferred.Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal technical teams.2 days/week on-site presence in the client office is expected.
