Senior Software Engineer – Java / Spring Boot / Kafka / KubernetesWe are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a major technology organisation in Amsterdam on an initial 6-month independent contract.This is a hands-on engineering role with responsibility for the end-to-end delivery and ownership of software applications and services, from solution design and development through deployment, production operations and continuous improvement.You will work alongside engineering and product teams to design and deliver complex technical solutions, while helping maintain high engineering standards across the team.Key responsibilities will include:Designing, developing and maintaining high-quality software applications and servicesWriting clean, reusable and maintainable code using established engineering patternsTaking end-to-end ownership of services, including deployment and production operationsMonitoring application health, performance and relevant service metricsTroubleshooting and resolving production incidents and completing root-cause analysisDesigning scalable technical and architectural solutions based on business and technology requirementsSupporting continuous delivery, testing and engineering best practicesIdentifying opportunities to improve system performance, reliability and development processesProviding technical guidance and mentoring to other engineersWorking collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersEssential SkillsYou should have strong commercial experience with:JavaSpring BootMySQLKafkaKubernetes (K8S)You should also be comfortable taking ownership of production systems and projects and making technical and architectural decisions in a complex engineering environment.Nice to HaveExperience with either of the following would be advantageous:KotlinMetadata ManagementLocation: Amsterdam – Hybrid, 1–2 days per week onsiteDuration: 6 monthsRate: €114 per hour - 40 hours per week
