You will also develop and test the PLC programs required to operate these systems. This is a practical role combining electrical design, panel assembly and automation not a purely desk-based engineering or software development position.Your responsibilitiesElectrical design: Create electrical schematics, cabinet layouts, bills of materials and terminal plans. Select and size components, power supplies, wiring and protective devices.Panel assembly and wiring: Install components, prepare and route cables, wire terminals and label equipment. Build well-organised panels that are easy to inspect and maintain.PLC programming: Develop, modify and troubleshoot small PLC applications. Implement safety-related logic based on defined and approved safety requirements.Testing and commissioning: Carry out electrical checks and functional tests within your qualifications and authorisation. Diagnose faults and coordinate safety-related testing and validation with the responsible internal or external specialist.Documentation and improvements: Maintain accurate as-built drawings, software backups and test records. Improve designs to make future builds simpler and more consistent.Your backgroundYou have completed an apprenticeship in electrical engineering, mechatronics or automation, a relevant HTL qualification, or equivalent technical training.
