Software Engineer – Java / Spring BootWe are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our technology client on an initial 6-month contract in Amsterdam. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong backend engineer who enjoys taking ownership of production services and building reliable, scalable software. You will work across the software development lifecycle, from designing and implementing technical solutions through to deployment, monitoring and ongoing production support.As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions based on business requirements while working closely with colleagues across different disciplines.You will write clean, reusable and maintainable code, contribute to automated testing, refactor existing solutions and help ensure services remain reliable and easy to evolve.The position also involves end-to-end ownership of applications and services, including monitoring application health and performance, continuous delivery, production operations and documentation.Key Skills:Comfortable with production ownership, incident management and making sound technical decisions within a broader architectural landscapeAn experienced software engineer who can take ownership of technical work and operate effectively within a complex engineering environmentComfortable identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and engineering practices while collaborating with colleagues and supporting more junior members of the team where appropriate.JavaSpring BootMySQLKafkaKubernetes (K8s)Kotlin (desirable)Metadata Management (desirable)Location: Amsterdam – hybrid, 1–2 days per week on-siteDuration: 6 monthsRate: €98 per hour + VAT - 40 hours per week
