We need a senior engineer who takes ownership, works independently, and leads by example. You'll be at the center of our data platform, collaborating with multiple teams while driving technical decisions that impact millions of users.Your tasksDesign and build scalable, customer-facing APIs using Rust and TypeScript (AWS Lambda)Own data modeling, data flows, and API reliability across our AWS infrastructureImplement Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK) and drive CI/CD improvementsCollaborate with data, search, and product teams to advance our API productsMentor colleagues and shape technical direction through strong judgment and communicationYour profile3+ years building scalable backend systems and APIsStrong experience with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS/SNS) and AWS CDK Solid programming in Rust, TypeScript, or similar languages (C/C++, Python) Experience designing APIs for external customers Ownership mindset: you anticipate problems, work independently, and communicate proactively Comfortable with Docker, Git, testing, and fast-moving environmentsNice to have: Rust in production, event-driven architectures, DynamoDB, AI/ML experienceWhat We OfferIn addition to our great team, culture, and our shared goal of empowering people with data, there are many other things that make Statista a great place to work!
