Senior Site Reliability (SRE)/DevOps EngineerBerlin / Hybrid | Full-timeBuild, improve and own the infrastructure behind a growing technology business.We’re partnering with an established software company that is entering an exciting period of technical growth.They’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer who wants more than simply keeping production running. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting to the root of difficult infrastructure problems, improving systems properly and having a genuine influence on how technology is built and operated.You’ll take ownership of a predominantly cloud-based infrastructure environment, working across cloud, hosted and on-premise systems while helping drive the transition towards a more modern, scalable and cloud-native platform.There’s plenty to get your teeth into - from reliability and observability to automation, infrastructure as code and modernising existing systems.The role:You’ll have a high level of ownership and autonomy, with the opportunity to make a visible impact across the engineering organisation.Your work will include:Owning the reliability, scalability and performance of production infrastructureDesigning and implementing robust, highly available and secure architecturesInvestigating complex infrastructure and production issues and driving them through to resolutionIntroducing and embedding SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, incident management and post-mortemsBuilding and improving CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as CodeDeveloping a strong observability strategy across monitoring, logging and alertingAutomating operational processes and eliminating unnecessary manual workHelping modernise legacy infrastructure without introducing unnecessary riskWorking closely with software engineers to build more reliable and resilient servicesSharing your experience, challenging existing approaches and helping raise the technical bar across the teamThe ideal candidate:We're looking for someone with around 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar role.You'll ideally have:Strong hands-on experience running production workloads on cloud platformsA solid understanding of Linux and distributed systemsExperience with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code toolStrong CI/CD experiencePractical Kubernetes and container experienceExperience building meaningful monitoring and observabilityA genuine understanding of SRE principles rather than simply the job titleExperience dealing with incidents and improving systems following themThe ability to modernise older infrastructure thoughtfully and pragmaticallyAn understanding of cloud security and cost optimisationProgramming experience with Python, Go or a similar languageExperience with hybrid/on-premise environments or security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2 would be a bonus.In return, you’ll get:This isn't a position where you'll simply inherit a perfectly polished platform and spend your time maintaining it.
