Responsibilities include monitoring security alerts, investigating suspicious activities, performing security assessments, reviewing system logs, analyzing vulnerabilities, and supporting incident response activities to minimize security risks.The role involves conducting vulnerability assessments, assisting with penetration testing activities, monitoring endpoint protection systems, reviewing firewall configurations, and ensuring security controls comply with organizational policies and industry best practices. The position will contribute to continuous improvement by developing security awareness materials, documenting incident response procedures, enhancing security monitoring capabilities, and supporting business continuity and disaster recovery planning.The Cyber Security Analyst will work closely with technical and business teams to investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, validate remediation efforts, and ensure timely resolution of identified risks. This position requires exceptional analytical thinking, technical expertise, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple security priorities while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, professionalism, and operational excellence.QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles including confidentiality, integrity, availability, defense-in-depth, risk management, and security governance.Knowledge of network security concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and secure network architecture.Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS, along with system hardening and security best practices.Understanding of endpoint protection technologies, antivirus platforms, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and extended detection and response (XDR) solutions.Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight, Elastic Security, or similar security monitoring tools.Familiarity with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7, OpenVAS, or comparable security assessment platforms.Understanding of identity and access management (IAM), multi-factor authentication (MFA), privileged access management (PAM), and directory services including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.Knowledge of cloud security concepts for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft 365, and other cloud-based environments.Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, COBIT, OWASP Top 10, and Zero Trust architecture.Understanding of secure software development principles, application security testing, API security, encryption technologies, and cryptographic fundamentals.Basic knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or SQL for automation, log analysis, and security investigations is advantageous.Ability to analyze security events, investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend effective remediation strategies.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify, prioritize, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare incident reports, technical documentation, risk assessments, and executive summaries.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple security tasks, projects, and incident response activities simultaneously.High attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining data confidentiality, regulatory compliance, documentation accuracy, and operational excellence.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams, business stakeholders, auditors, and external security partners.Professional integrity, accountability, and commitment to continuous learning in cybersecurity technologies, threat intelligence, and evolving security best practices.Dedication to protecting organizational assets through proactive threat detection, effective incident response, continuous risk reduction, security awareness, and ongoing improvement of cybersecurity capabilities.
