Sensor System Experts & Specialists | MEMS / Inertial SensorsMilan, Italy | Hybrid WorkingI'm partnering with a global semiconductor technology company looking to strengthen its sensor systems engineering team in Milan, with two opportunities at different levels of seniority.These positions offer the opportunity to play an important role in the development of next-generation inertial measurement units (IMUs), working at the intersection of MEMS technology, ASICs, system architecture and sensor performance.I'm interested in speaking with both established Sensor System Experts with extensive industry experience and Sensor System Specialists looking to develop their technical expertise within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.The opportunityYou'll be involved in the system-level development of next-generation motion sensors, helping to define how individual components come together to deliver the required performance, robustness and reliability.Your responsibilities will include:• Defining system requirements for next-generation IMUs, gyroscopes and accelerometers.• Working across MEMS, ASIC, packaging, calibration, testing and software teams.• Developing and evaluating sensor concepts through modelling, simulation and experimental measurements.• Assessing system performance, identifying technical trade-offs and investigating potential failure modes.• Contributing to system verification and validation strategies.• Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, research groups and external partners to evaluate future sensor technologies.• Presenting technical findings and recommendations to engineering stakeholders and customers.What I'm looking forIdeally, you'll bring experience in some of the following areas:• MEMS sensors, particularly gyroscopes and accelerometers.• Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) and motion sensing systems.• Sensor system architecture, modelling or simulation.• System-level performance analysis and verification.• Understanding of MEMS, ASIC and associated sensor technologies.• Experience working across multidisciplinary semiconductor or sensor development teams.An educational background in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline would be particularly relevant.Two levels of opportunity🔹 Sensor System Expert: Suited to an established engineer with approximately 8–10 years of relevant industry experience and substantial expertise in inertial sensor systems.🔹 Sensor System Specialist: Suited to an engineer with relevant industry experience and a strong understanding of motion sensor systems who is looking to develop further technical responsibility.Both positions are based in Milan, Italy, with hybrid working arrangements.If your background is in MEMS, inertial sensors, IMUs or sensor system engineering, I'd be interested in having a confidential conversation.Please get in touch directly or send me a message to find out more.#MEMS #IMU #InertialSensors #Semiconductors #SensorSystems #EngineeringJobs #MilanJobs
