Working independently on routine activities and with guidance on more complex assignments, the role delivers installation and service work across customer sites while ensuring projects are completed safely, to a high standard of quality, within budget, and in accordance with agreed schedules.The Security Specialist works across both project installations and reactive/preventative service activities, providing technical expertise and delivering exceptional customer experience. The role supports the full lifecycle of enterprise security solutions, including Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Detection Systems.Job Responsibilities:1. Install, configure, program, commission and test enterprise electronic security systems, includingAccess Control, IP CCTV, Video Management and Intrusion Detection Systems, in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer standards and applicable regulations.2. Deliver project installations safely and efficiently by interpreting drawings, schematics and technical documentation, completing work to agreed quality standards, budgets and project schedules.3. Perform preventative and reactive service activities, including fault diagnosis, repair, maintenance, firmware upgrades, system modifications and restoration of security systems to full operational performance.4. Troubleshoot integrated security solutions, identifying and resolving hardware, software, networking and field device issues while escalating complex technical problems where appropriate and maintaining ownership through to resolution.5. Provide exceptional customer support by building trusted relationships, delivering user training,communicating professionally and consistently demonstrating Convergint's commitment to being Our Customer's Best Service Provider.6. Maintain accurate documentation including commissioning records, service reports, testing results, maintenance documentation and project close-out information to support operational excellence and customer compliance.7. Champion quality and safety by adhering to company policies, health and safety requirements, industry standards and best practices while maintaining a safe, organised and professional working environment.8. Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve installation methods, service delivery, productivity, quality and project profitability while sharing knowledge and supporting team development.9. Take ownership of assigned work by managing priorities, maintaining company tools andequipment, supporting Project Managers and colleagues, and ensuring every installation and service activity is completed to the highest professional standard.Job Skills Requirements:• Strong knowledge of enterprise electronic security systems.• Ability to install, commission and troubleshoot Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Detection systems.• Good understanding of structured cabling, low voltage wiring practices and networking fundamentals.• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, wiring schematics and technical documentation.• Familiarity with IP networking concepts including switches, VLANs, TCP/IP addressing and PoE.• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.• Excellent organisational and time management skills.• Strong customer service focus with a professional and positive attitude.• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within project teams.• Good written and verbal communication skills.• Commitment to delivering quality workmanship and continuous improvement.Education Requirements:• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.• Relevant Electrical, Electronics or Security Systems qualification preferred.• Vocational or technical training in Electronic Security or Low Voltage Systems is advantageous.Experience Requirements:• Minimum 1 year experience installing and servicing electronic security systems.• Experience working with enterprise Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Detection systems.• Experience working in commercial, industrial, government or critical infrastructure environments is preferred.• Experience commissioning IP-based security systems is desirable.• Knowledge of integrated security platforms is advantageous.Certifications & Licenses:• Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.• Manufacturer certifications on enterprise security platforms are desirable.• Industry certifications (e.g. Lenel, Genetec, Gallagher, Milestone, Axis, Bosch) are advantageous.• Electrical or Low Voltage licences where required by local legislation.• Health & Safety certifications (e.g. Working at Heights, IPAF, PASMA, MEWP) are desirable.Sourced from LinkedIn.
