Procurement & Product Manager (m/w/d)Location: Berlin, Germany (Hybrid: predominantly remote / flexible setup with base in or around Berlin)Salary: €50,000 – €70,000 p.a.Job Type: Permanent, Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are looking for a driven and commercially minded Procurement & Product Manager (m/w/d) to join our fast-growing e-commerce family of health and beauty brands. In this high-impact, end-to-end role, approximately 70% of your focus will be dedicated to Product Development & Management (including compliance), while roughly 30% will cover Procurement, supplier management, and reorder execution.You will own the entire lifecycle of our innovative lifestyle, cosmetics, and supplement products—taking them from initial market trend analysis and formulation through to first production, launch, and ongoing inventory availability.Key Responsibilities1. Product Research & Development (~70%)Trend & Market Analysis: Monitor trends and competitors across DACH, UK, and FR, rapidly validating new product concepts via sampling, test batches, or landing page tests.End-to-End Ownership: Drive new product development from concept, ingredient selection, and formulation to packaging, artwork sign-off, first orders, and successful market launch.Supplier & Lab Briefing: Act as the primary technical point of contact, briefing and steering laboratories, contract manufacturers (CMOs), and raw material partners.Product Optimization: Continuously optimize existing product lines (reformulas, packaging updates, cost efficiencies, and claim enhancements) and feed insights into our product roadmap.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance from day one, vetting claims, ingredient lists (INCI), label risks, safety assessments, and CPNP/PIF or relevant food/supplement regulations before they become bottlenecks.2. Commercial Ownership & Procurement (~30%)Commercial Product Design: Work backwards from selling price and target margins to determine acceptable COGS and manufacturing costs, ensuring every launch makes sound business sense.Reorder & Inventory Management: Plan and execute reorders for existing products, maintaining an optimal balance to prevent stock-outs and avoid overstock.Negotiation & Supplier Relations: Negotiate pricing, MOQs (minimum order quantities), lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers.Backup Supply Chains: Build and maintain a robust network of backup suppliers to minimize dependency risks.AI-Driven Workflows: Leverage AI tools (such as ChatGPT and Claude) and automated workflows to accelerate supplier communications, technical briefings, and reporting.Candidate ProfileMust-Haves:Professional Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in product development and 4+ years in procurement/purchasing of physical consumer goods (ideally within cosmetics, personal care, skincare, consumer health, or food supplements).Track Record: Successfully launched at least 3 independent products from concept to market, taking personal ownership of COGS, target margins, MOQs, and launch timelines.Commercial & Numerical Acumen: Strong capability to calculate backward from target retail prices to manufacturing costs, managing product economics rather than just formulation or aesthetics.Regulatory Understanding: Solid foundational knowledge of compliance requirements in a regulated consumer product sector (cosmetics or supplement regulations highly valued).Technical Tools: Proficient working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and experience with ERP/inventory management systems.Language Skills: Native-level German (C2) and professional working proficiency in English (B2+).Location & Work Style: Based in or around Berlin, possessing a strong ownership mentality, structured execution, and a pragmatic, hands-on approach.Nice-to-Haves:Direct industry background in cosmetics, skincare, beauty, or functional food (e.g., scale-ups like KoRo/Ahead, or retail/private-label organisations).Existing network of European laboratories, contract manufacturers, and packaging partners.Experience with project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Notion, Monday) and AI-driven process automation.What We OfferHigh Autonomy & End-to-End Ownership: Complete ownership of products from market insight and formulation to commercial scaling, with short decision-making paths.Dynamic Team Culture: A collaborative, transparent, and fast-moving team environment built on core values like Extreme Ownership, Clarity First, and Curiosity Ignites Growth.Flexible Working Environment: A hybrid setup with up to 30 EU Work & Travel days per year, a predominantly remote structure, and flexible working hours.Comprehensive Benefits Package: 100% employer subsidy for company pension schemes (bAV), subsidized wellness/fitness passes, staff discounts, and a dedicated annual budget for professional development.Cutting-Edge Tools: Direct encouragement and backing to integrate AI workflows and automations into product creation and supply chain processes.
