The role combines application security, IAM, vulnerability management, secure software development, and coaching within a Microsoft/.NET Agile environment.Job Title: Senior Security EngineerLocation: Gelderland Area - Hybrid Duration: Initial 3 month Freelance Mission (Extentions up to July 2030)Start Date: September 2026ResponsibilitiesCoach development teams on secure software development, Security by Design, and security awareness.Translate security policies and principles into practical controls and working methods.Improve IAM processes and authorisation models, including RBAC and ABAC.Analyse, prioritise, and coordinate the resolution of vulnerabilities and CVEs.Review and manage findings from penetration tests, security assessments, and vulnerability scans.Work with developers, architects, the SOC, and other stakeholders to deliver practical security solutions.Experience RequiredAt least 7 years’ experience as a Security Engineer, Application Security Engineer, or similar within a complex enterprise or public-sector environment.At least 5 years’ experience with IAM, access controls, and authorisation management.At least 5 years’ experience coaching developers or technical teams on information security.Bachelor’s/HBO-level working and thinking ability.Strong knowledge of Zero Trust, Security by Design, Least Privilege, threat modelling, and secure development in Microsoft/.NET environments.Knowledge of OWASP, SSDLC, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, and authentication protocols; CISSP, CSSLP, or similar certification is desirable.
