Developer Platform Engineer - Azure DevOps / CI/CDLocation: Utrecht, Netherlands (Hybrid)Contract: 12 monthsStart Date: 2 November 2026End Date: 1 November 2027Language: Fluent Dutch and English requiredEmployment Type: Payroll only - ZZP not permitted About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Developer Platform Engineer to join a central Platform Engineering team in Utrecht.You will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and improving secure, scalable CI/CD platforms using Azure DevOps.Working within an enterprise platform engineering environment supporting dozens of development teams, you will build reusable pipeline components, automate security and compliance controls, and improve the overall developer experience.This is a hands-on engineering position requiring strong expertise in Azure DevOps, CI/CD automation, scripting and developer tooling. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.Develop reusable pipeline templates and components for multiple development teams.Automate build, testing, deployment and release processes.Integrate automated security, compliance and code quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.Maintain and improve development tools including Azure DevOps, SonarQube and Nexus.Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash or C#.Support Infrastructure as Code and cloud platform automation.Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot incidents and implement long-term improvements.Manage the lifecycle, maintenance and reliability of developer tooling.Work closely with engineers, Product Owners and stakeholders to identify platform improvements.Provide technical support and guidance to development teams on CI/CD, security and automation.Improve developer productivity through standardised, secure and reusable platform solutions. Essential RequirementsMinimum 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, DevSecOps or Platform Engineering.Strong hands-on experience designing, building and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.Proven programming or scripting experience with at least one of:PowerShellPythonBashC#Experience managing, maintaining or supporting developer tooling.Strong understanding of CI/CD automation, build pipelines, testing and deployment processes.Experience implementing secure, reliable and maintainable engineering solutions.Ability to troubleshoot complex platform and pipeline issues.Experience working collaboratively with software development teams.Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics.Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English.Higher professional education (HBO/WO) level of working and thinking. Desirable SkillsTerraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.Kubernetes and cloud-native engineering.Automated security and compliance controls.SonarQube, Nexus and Git.DevSecOps practices and secure software delivery.Platform engineering and developer self-service solutions.Experience supporting enterprise-scale development environments. Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on DevOps or Platform Engineer with a strong background in Azure DevOps and CI/CD engineering.You should be comfortable taking ownership of platform solutions from initial design through implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement.We are particularly interested in engineers who have built reusable CI/CD solutions, supported multiple development teams and managed enterprise developer tooling.
