Embedded Software Engineer – Set-Top Box TechnologyContract - 6 Months+NL - AmsterdamRates - NegotiableWe’re looking for an experienced Embedded AV Engineer to support the development and integration of audio and video technology for set-top box platforms.This is a highly technical, low-level engineering position suited to someone with strong experience in Linux-based embedded systems, multimedia drivers and chipset integration. You’ll work closely with chipset vendors and their support teams to port, integrate and troubleshoot vendor-supplied drivers across STB hardware platforms.What you’ll be working onDeveloping and integrating low-level drivers and porting layers for audio and video decodersWorking with Linux kernel drivers and embedded Linux platformsPorting vendor drivers onto set-top box hardwareIntegrating audio/video decoder functionality with the wider STB software stackCollaborating directly with chipset vendors to resolve driver and platform issuesDebugging problems across hardware, kernel, driver and middleware layersSupporting performance, stability and compatibility testingWhat we’re looking forStrong embedded software engineering experienceHands-on knowledge of Linux kernel and device-driver developmentExperience with audio/video decoder drivers or multimedia subsystemsStrong C programming skillsExperience porting and integrating vendor-supplied driversUnderstanding of set-top box, connected-TV or similar embedded consumer-electronics platformsExperience working with semiconductor or STB chipset vendorsConfident debugging complex issues across software and hardware boundariesExperience with technologies such as hardware video decoders, demuxers, HDMI, audio pipelines, DRM or conditional-access systems would be beneficial.If you have a background in embedded Linux and enjoy solving low-level multimedia integration challenges, apply now to find out more!Sourced from LinkedIn.
