ATN is partnered with a global leading Tier 1 automotive supplier in its search for a Mechanical Engineer, based in Berlin, to design and develop mechanical components and systems for next-generation vehicle platforms.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mechanical components and assemblies from concept through to series production.Create 3D models, drawings and specifications using CAD tools, applying GD&T and tolerance analysis.Select materials and manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, stamping and die-casting.Run and interpret simulations (FEA, thermal, mechanical stress) to validate designs.Plan and support prototyping, testing and validation activities against customer and automotive standards.Work closely with electrical, manufacturing, quality and supplier teams to ensure designs are robust and manufacturable.Support customer projects with OEMs, including technical reviews, change requests and design documentation.Drive DFMEA, DFM/DFA and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.Requirements3+ years' experience in mechanical design or product development, ideally within automotive or a Tier 1 supplier.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Strong CAD skills (e.g. CATIA, Creo or NX) and a solid understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.Knowledge of plastic and metal part design and high-volume manufacturing processes.Experience with FEA or other simulation tools.Familiarity with automotive quality processes, including APQP, PPAP and DFMEA.Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally and with customers.Fluent in both German and English.ATN is a global talent partner to the automotive industry, specialising in engineering recruitment and executive search for the organisations shaping the future of mobility.
