If you are driven by an eagerness to disrupt, have a passion for collaboration, and are excited about shaping the future of mobility, we would love to hear from you.The mobile.de Cloud and Infrastructure organisation provides the tools, services and support that help our business make effective use of public cloud.We are building a four-engineer team focused on Cloud Excellence and are looking for an experienced leader with a software engineering background and a hands-on approach. The team develops self-service capabilities for FinOps and cloud governance, including identity and access management (IAM) and technical controls. It also helps Cloud Operations to use cloud resources efficiently and supports initiatives such as NIS2-aligned solution design.Across the organisation, we build internal products with Backstage, Kubernetes and services from AWS and GCP; manage infrastructure as code for containerised workloads; integrate third-party services; and provide observability and shared cloud resources for mobile.de products. We are first responders in an on call rotation and monitor our platform 24/7 to identify and address incidents promptly.The team meets in the Berlin office multiple times per week to collaborate, meet and have lunch together.Job requirementsLead and develop a team of four engineers, combining people leadership with a hands-on engineering mindset.Strengthen our cloud capabilities in FinOps, governance, business continuity, IAM and compliance.Share operational ownership and continuously improve our solutions through automation, simplicity, reliability and observability.Participate in on call rotation and roster managementBuild and promote automated workflows across our GitHub ecosystem.Help teams choose cloud and SaaS solutions that deliver the right value, and replace outdated solutions when appropriate.Share your expertise and mentor team members and software engineers in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.Contribute to the success of Germany’s largest automotive marketplace through your knowledge and experience.Job responsibilitiesYou demonstrated the ability to inspire commitment and foster high performance through authentic and inclusive leadership, especially in situations where influence matters more than formal authority.You are able to provide direction, make pragmatic decisions and maintain focus in complex, ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.You possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English, combined with strong negotiation, influencing, stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills.You have a software engineering background, or equivalent relevant experience, and enjoy staying hands-on.You are proficient in public cloud technologies and concepts, particularly AWS and GCP.You understand IT architecture and can guide teams towards robust, well-structured solutions.You take ownership of outcomes and are comfortable applying agile project-management approaches.You enjoy advising others and helping them solve problems.You communicate fluently in English.You’re skilled at applying AI tools in practical ways to improve how you work, from exploring ideas to producing high-quality results.Experience with ITIL, TOGAF or contract management is a plus.Job benefitsWorking at mobile.de comes with its perks!
