Mechanical Lead Inspector – Offshore HVDCLocation: Remote / Berlin / International Travel Start: December 2026 Sector: Offshore Wind / HVDC / Energy InfrastructureThe RoleWe are looking for an experienced Mechanical Lead Inspector to support a major European offshore energy infrastructure project.The role will oversee mechanical QA/QC, inspection, testing, FATs, mechanical completion and commissioning across equipment including cranes and lifting systems, diesel generators, pumps, cooling systems and associated mechanical packages. The initial working arrangement will be approximately 40% remote, 10% Berlin and 50% international vendor travel, with the project later moving into a significant yard phase in Dubai. Key ResponsibilitiesReview ITPs, FAT procedures, inspection documentation and certification.Witness FATs, load tests, performance testing and supplier inspections.Lead and coordinate mechanical inspection activities.Manage NCRs, deviations, punch lists and corrective actions.Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning.Liaise with contractors, suppliers, yard teams and client stakeholders.RequirementsMechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent.8+ years' mechanical QA/QC inspection experience, including 5+ years within offshore or marine projects. Experience as a Lead Inspector, Owner's Inspector or Client Representative.Strong FAT and load-testing experience, particularly with lifting equipment, diesel generators, pumps or rotating equipment.Previous experience leading/coordinating inspection teams.Offshore HVDC, offshore substation, oil & gas topside or shipbuilding experience.Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally and work in Dubai during the yard phase. Previous HVDC/offshore substation experience and qualifications such as LEEA, GWO, BOSIET/HUET or ISO 9712 would be advantageous.
