Lead Product Manager / Founding PM - in person in ParisModaResa is building the AI-native operating system for wholesale fashion. We work with the brands defining luxury and premium fashion globally, replacing fragmented spreadsheets, legacy showroom tools, and manual operational workflows with a coherent, intelligent platform. Our ambition is not to be a “better tool.” It is to become the underlying infrastructure for how wholesale fashion runs — from showroom appointments and buyer journeys to order capture, allocation, and operational orchestration. The industry has been overdue for this for a decade. We are building it.Why this role exists nowWe have a validated product, real customers, and serious momentum through our newly launched freemium product, with a virality strategy to upsell to PRO.We need someone who can sit between the founder’s vision and the engineering team and turn strategic ambiguity into shipped product and value. Someone who can take a complex workflow problem, the full lifecycle of a showroom appointment, with its states, permissions, edge cases, and rollout sequencing - and turn it into a concrete, technically realistic, well-prioritised execution plan. This is not a Jira coordination role. This is a founding-team role with founding-team responsibility, closer to a “mini-founder” than a classical PM. You will work directly with our CEO, who owns product vision and strategy. Your job is to make that vision executable. You will be the operational backbone of how the product gets built at ModaResa. Concretely:Translate vision into specs Take a customer conversation, a founder sketch, or a strategic priority and break it down into states, permissions, failure cases, edge conditions, MVP scope, and scalable architecture, challenge it — with sharp judgment on what to build now versus later.Run the build cycle Own the sequencing of work across engineering, decide what ships next and in what order, and keep velocity high without sacrificing quality.Challenge engineering and product decisions. Push back when a proposed solution is overbuilt, underbuilt, or misaligned with the customer problem. You are expected to have opinions and defend them.Structure ambiguity. Customer requests arrive half-formed. Internal priorities conflict. Your job is to turn that into a coherent roadmap and clear weekly outcomes.Stay close to customers. Plan, run and sit in customer calls. Translate operational pain into product opportunity. By month 3, you know our customers’ workflows nearly as well as they do.Drive AI-native execution. Every workflow we build assumes AI in the loop. You will design with automation, agentic flows, and operational leverage in mind, not bolt them on later.Be the founder’s operational force multiplier. Where the founder cannot be, you are. You absorb pressure, structure chaos, and protect the team’s focus. What success looks likeBy month 6The team ships faster and with fewer false starts because specs are sharper. Customers feel the product getting more coherent with every release. The founder is no longer the single point of failure on execution.By month 12ModaResa has a defensible product surface area that compounds - not a pile of features. You have established the operating rhythm that lets us scale headcount without losing velocity. Internally and externally, you are seen as a co-pilot to the founder. The profile we are looking forWe care more about evidence than credentials. Strong signal looks like:You have owned a complex B2B workflow product from 0 → 1 — ideally with real operational depth (vertical SaaS, internal tooling, ops platforms, logistics, fintech infrastructure, or similar). You have worked shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers and hold your own in a technical conversation. You don’t need to write code, but you think in systems. You understand relational data models, API contracts, authorization boundaries, and systems trade-offs, enough to challenge engineering decisions, spot overengineering, and write specs that engineers can actually ship from. (Our stack is TypeScript end-to-end: Node/NestJS and PostgreSQL on the backend, React on the web, Expo/React Native on mobile.)You have built or shipped under market pressure, as an ex-founder, an early-stage operator, a first PM, or a product-minded engineer who graduated into product ownership. You make imperfect decisions quickly and revise them when new information arrives. You do not need “perfect requirements” to move.Your written and oral communication is sharp. You can compress a messy 60-minute discussion into a one-page spec engineers can ship from. You think natively in AI-augmented workflows, what to automate, what to keep human-in-the-loop, where to use models, where not to.You operate with intensity and high standards. You care about outcomes more than process.Strong signals we love to seeEx-founder, or first PM at an early-stage startup that has been successful - Direct experience working alongside founders0 → 1 product ownership in a technically complex domainShipped internal tooling, ops platforms, or workflow productsA pattern of taking on more scope than your title formally allowedSignals that do not fit this roleA career built primarily on roadmap coordination or stakeholder alignment at large companiesConsumer-only product experience without operational depthA need for well-defined requirements before startingDiscomfort with technical conversations or ambiguityProcess-first instincts over outcome-first instinctsWe do not over-index on years of PM experience. We care about what you have built, what you have owned, and how hard the problems were. The team you will work withYou will partner directly with the founder on strategy and customer signals, with our engineering lead on architecture and quality, and with a product design partner on UX and design systems. The team is deliberately small, and every hire is consequential. This is the kind of team where your decisions actually move the company. How we workWe use AI coding tools daily. We automate internal operations progressively. We expect every team member to compound their own leverage by using the best tools available. We’re feedback driven, iterate quickly, ship often, and treat customer feedback as the highest-priority signal. We are a company building category-defining infrastructure for an industry that has been waiting for it. That requires real intensity, real ownership, and real standards — and we protect focus rather than perform urgency.In-person is something you love, not a constraint. Remote is not institutionalised at ModaResa but welcomed occasionallyCompensation, equity, and locationFixed + variable + meaningful ESOP.We invest in tools, AI subscriptions, and anything else that makes you more effective. How to applyFirst and foremost, please fill out our application survey. Please send us three things at stephanie@modaresa.com (cc darethedots@modaresa.com):One example of a complex product or workflow you have owned end-to-end, and what you decided not to build.A short note on the hardest operational ambiguity you have navigated.Anything that demonstrates judgment under pressure, a writeup, a project, a side build, a teardown.Thank you!
