We are looking for a Lead UAS Systems & Edge AI Architect.Your mission with usOwn the end-to-end technical architecture of our autonomous aerial systems.Define how flight control, edge compute, sensors, perception, state estimation, autonomy, RF/C2 and payload systems work together as one aircraft.Define and maintain clear subsystem interfaces, timing budgets, compute budgets and integration Turn research prototypes into deployable airborne systems with clear interfaces, timing requirements and compute allocation.Architect the onboard compute stack across flight controllers, embedded Linux systems, GPUs and dedicated accelerators.Make pragmatic decisions between ROS2, existing middleware and custom high-performance runtime components.Lead rapid integration of new cameras, sensing modalities, AI models and autonomy algorithms onto flying platforms.Work directly with the aircraft, flight-test team and engineering leads to identify system bottlenecks and resolve them quickly.Drive the system from laboratory prototypes toward robust, repeatable field operation.Maintain a strong understanding of weight, power, thermal, latency, bandwidth and reliability constraints.Own technical quality across subsystem boundaries and prevent local engineering decisions from compromising overall system performance.Your contribution to the team (required)Significant hands-on experience architecting and deploying complex robotic or autonomous systems.Strong experience with real hardware — not simulation-only development.Experience deploying perception, autonomy or AI workloads onto embedded / edge compute.Strong understanding of robotics software architecture, sensor pipelines and real-time systems.Solid C++ and Linux background.Experience with ROS / ROS2 or comparable robotics middleware.Strong understanding of embedded compute, networking and hardware interfaces.Ability to reason across perception, estimation, planning, flight control and embedded systems.Proven ability to move quickly from system concept to working prototype.Comfortable working directly with flight hardware, logs, telemetry and test equipment.Proven experience taking at least one complex robotic or autonomous system from prototype to deployed operation.
