About VibeAt Vibe.co, we're reimagining how brands reach audiences in the age of streaming. We believe streaming TV is no longer just a brand awareness play, it's the next great performance marketing channel. We're building the infrastructure to unlock this $100B opportunity.Vibe.co provides an Audience First Streaming TV Advertising solution for marketers to unlock TV as a growth channel. The company hit a $100 million revenue run rate in under two years, ranking among the ten fastest software companies to reach that milestone.Vibe.co's investors include Hedosophia (an early backer of Spotify, Uber, and Airbnb), Elaia, Singular, QuantumLight (Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky's fund), and Illusian (Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen's fund), as well as angel investors including Carolyn Everson, board member of The Walt Disney Company and Coca-Cola. The team runs three interlocking stacks: a batch platform that feeds Product, Sales, Finance, and ML; a real-time streaming layer that powers spend tracking and retargeting; and a reporting stack built on ClickHouse Cloud and Cube that serves sub-second analytics through Vibe's Clear platform. This role exists because bid, win, and impression volumes are growing as fast as the business, and the platform needs an owner who can turn that scale into reliable, cost-efficient infrastructure rather than a growing pile of incidents. You'll get end-to-end ownership of systems the business can't run without, direct influence over the tools every data, ML, and analytics engineer at Vibe uses daily, and a mandate to treat performance and cost as core engineering problems, not afterthoughts. What You'll DoPlatform & Services OwnershipDesign and operate real-time event processing on Kafka at production scaleBuild and run batch orchestration pipelines on DagsterOwn the serving path into ClickHouse Cloud from ingestion through queryDrive projects end-to-end from stakeholder requirements through post-launch iterationSet architecture decisions on partitioning, materialization, retention, and compute sizingDeveloper Enablement & ToolingBuild orchestration patterns and testing frameworks the whole team relies onEstablish CI/CD and data contracts that reduce manual review overheadTurn recurring one-off fixes into reusable, documented building blocksDesign self-serve infrastructure that teams adopt without being told toReliability & Operational ExcellenceBuild alerting and dashboards that catch issues before users feel themSet SLOs that reflect real business risk, not vanity metricsLead incident response during on-call rotationsWrite runbooks and automation that shorten and reduce pagesAnticipate scaling limits before bid/win log growth turns them into incidentsPerformance & Cost OptimizationProfile and optimize services across Kafka, Spark, DuckDB, and ClickHouseTreat compute and storage spend as a first-class engineering metricLead cost reviews on the platform's most expensive systemsInstrument the platform to catch cost regressions earlyCross-Team PartnershipTranslate ambiguous requests from data, ML, and product engineers into concrete deliverablesPush back on requests that aren't ready or aren't the right approachInfluence upstream teams on schema, semantics, and SLAsBrief senior stakeholders on tradeoffs and decisions, not implementation detailWhat You Need5+ years building and operating distributed, data-intensive systems in productionStrong programming skills in Python and/or Rust, with real testing and code review disciplineProduction experience with several of: Kafka, Spark, Iceberg or object storage, ClickHouse or similar column-store analyticsExperience owning services from code to production, including AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-codeA track record of measurably improving performance or cost on specific systems, and can explain whyStrong cross-functional communication, including the judgment to push back on stakeholders with conflicting prioritiesNice to HavesExperience in programmatic or streaming TV advertisingOur ValuesAt Vibe, we run on three values: Impact, Ambition, and Urgency.
