Capandji is a Berlin-based deep-tech robotics startup developing the most advanced, anthropomorphic robotic hand in the world. As part of a consortium with Berliner Hochschule fürTechnik (BHT) and Technische Universität Berlin (TUB), we are applying to the SPRIND "NextFrontier Robotics Challenge" to build high-dexterity robotic systems for real-world applications.ResponsibilitiesHardware & Interface Development: Design and implement mounting solutions andelectronic interfaces to ensure seamless interoperability of our robotic hand with varioushost platforms.Prototyping & Mechanical Design: Continuously improve overall finger geometry, tendonrouting, and thermal management strategies.Sensing Integration: Develop and integrate robust sensing modalities without compromisingthe mechanical durability of the hand.Testing & Benchmarking: Design and build test rigs and benchmarking methodologies toevaluate durability, precision, and duty cycles.QualificationsBackground: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering,Robotics, or a related field.Practical Experience: Proven experience in at least one of the following domains: CADdesign, PCB development, microcontrollers, rapid prototyping using additive manufacturing(SLA, SLS, FDM).Software Skills: Proficiency in C++, Python for low-level control and system validation.Nice-to-HaveExperience in building tendon-driven robotic mechanisms or anthropomorphic hands.Knowledge of thermal management solutions for compact robotic systems.Hands-on experience with fiber-optic sensing solutions or system calibration/identification.You will have the opportunity to shape a robotics company from the ground up. Hierarchies are flat:you will work directly with the founders and alongside some of the strongest people in the field. Weare building a diverse and inclusive team, and we encourage everyone to apply - we look forwardto the knowledge, experience and fresh perspective you bring. Together we can solve some of thehardest problems in robotics. Please, apply with your CV and a brief note on your motivation to Adrian Sieler, Co-Founder andCTO, at adrian.sieler@capandji.de or via this LinkedIn job post.
