Nodum is built to empower individual knowledge ownership while leveraging modern AI capabilities.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Marcallo con Casone for a Full Stack Python/NextJS Open Source Contributor. The contributor will design, build, and maintain core product features across the backend (Python) and frontend (Next.js/React), ensuring a seamless, high-performance user experience in an AI-powered knowledge environment. Day-to-day work includes implementing APIs, integrating AI services, optimizing data structures for local-first storage, and improving Markdown-based content workflows. The role also involves reviewing and contributing to open-source code, writing tests, documenting changes, and collaborating with a small, focused team on product direction and technical architecture. The contributor is expected to actively participate in issue triage, pull request reviews, and community discussions to help grow Nodum’s open-source ecosystem.Qualifications Strong proficiency in Python for backend development, including building APIs and working with modern web frameworks.Hands-on experience with Next.js and React for frontend development, focusing on responsive interfaces and performance optimization.Comfort working with Markdown-based content, file-based storage, and local-first or offline-capable application patterns.Solid understanding of modern web architectures, REST/GraphQL APIs, and secure integration of AI or machine learning services.Familiarity with open-source workflows, including Git, issue tracking, code reviews, and collaborative development practices.Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and basic DevOps practices for deploying and monitoring web applications.Clear, concise communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a small, product-focused engineering team.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior contributions to open-source projects are a strong plus.Sourced from LinkedIn.
