In this role, you will build scalable, reliable, and secure data platform services that enable data engineers, data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts to efficiently consume and process real-time data at scale.The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in distributed systems, stream processing, cloud platforms, and platform engineering with a passion for technical leadership, innovation, and mentoring engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesData Platform EngineeringDesign, build, and maintain scalable real-time data ingestion and stream processing solutions.Develop platform services that support high-volume, low-latency data processing workloads.Create self-service data ingestion capabilities that improve developer productivity and platform adoption.Ensure data platforms meet enterprise standards for reliability, scalability, security, and performance.Stream Processing & Distributed SystemsDesign and implement real-time data pipelines using modern stream processing technologies.Develop robust event-driven architectures capable of handling large-scale data volumes.Optimize throughput, fault tolerance, delivery guarantees, and error-handling mechanisms.Support batch and streaming workloads across modern data ecosystems.Cloud & Platform ArchitectureContribute to architecture decisions and long-term platform strategy.Design cloud-native solutions that leverage managed services and distributed infrastructure.Support multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud data architectures.Drive platform modernization initiatives that improve operational efficiency and scalability.Kubernetes & Infrastructure EngineeringBuild and manage containerized platform services and workloads.Support orchestration, automation, deployment, and operational management of production environments.Develop infrastructure components that improve platform reliability and scalability.Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices.Software Engineering ExcellenceWrite clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code.Apply software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and security standards.Ensure solutions are optimized for performance, maintainability, and operational resilience.Continuously improve development standards and engineering practices.Technical Leadership & MentorshipProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers across the team.Lead architectural discussions and influence technical direction.Promote knowledge sharing, engineering best practices, and continuous learning.Help elevate the technical capabilities of the broader engineering organization.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with data engineers, machine learning engineers, developers, architects, and platform teams.Identify and resolve technical blockers impacting delivery and platform adoption.Align platform capabilities with business and engineering needs.Drive collaboration across teams to deliver scalable data solutions.Innovation & Continuous ImprovementEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend platform enhancements.Drive innovation in stream processing, cloud engineering, and data platform capabilities.Continuously improve reliability, observability, scalability, and developer experience.Support the evolution of modern lakehouse and data platform architectures.QualificationsRequiredStrong experience building data platform services and distributed systems.Deep expertise in:Go and/or ScalaStream ProcessingEvent-Driven ArchitecturesDistributed SystemsPlatform EngineeringWorking knowledge of Python.Proven experience designing and implementing real-time data ingestion and processing solutions.Experience managing and operating large-scale production workloads.Strong Kubernetes expertise.Experience delivering projects end-to-end from architecture through deployment and operational support.Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.Preferred Technical SkillsApache Flink or equivalent stream processing platforms.Cloud platforms such as:AWSGCPAzureContainerization and orchestration technologies.Data Lakehouse Architectures.Platform Observability, Monitoring, and Alerting.Infrastructure Automation and Cloud-Native Engineering.High-Throughput Data Processing Systems.Core CompetenciesData Platform EngineeringReal-Time Data ProcessingApache FlinkDistributed SystemsGo DevelopmentScala DevelopmentCloud EngineeringKubernetesData Ingestion ArchitectureEvent-Driven SystemsPlatform Reliability & ScalabilityTechnical LeadershipSoftware Engineering ExcellenceMentoring & Knowledge Sharing
