About The RoleThis is a maximum-ownership engineering role at a pre-seed AI-native fintech startup building autonomous agent infrastructure for private markets operations. The platform connects to inboxes, web portals, and financial data sources to extract key data points, reconcile bank accounts, and generate journal entries for existing ERPs — turning days of manual fund accounting work into minutes, with full traceability and real-time collaboration.As a Founding Engineer, you won't just write code — you'll help shape the product roadmap, work directly with customers, and contribute to building the team. Top performers will grow quickly into a leadership position.What You'll DoBuild and own core components of an AI-native operations platform end-to-endDevelop and maintain agentic/autonomous systems that process financial documents, reconcile transactions, and produce deliverables like journal entries and reporting packagesDesign and build production-grade backend APIs and services that integrate with ERPs, banking systems, email, and file storageIntegrate, operate, and optimise large language models (LLMs) in production, including model routing and orchestrationCollaborate closely with early design partners and customers to shape product directionContribute to hiring and help attract exceptional talent as the team growsWhat We're Looking ForRequired:1–3 years of professional software engineering experienceHands-on experience with LLMs and agentic/autonomous systems in productionStrong backend development skills — building and operating production-grade APIs and servicesExperience building or maintaining AI-native operations infrastructure (e.g. for accounting, reporting, reconciliation, or treasury)Domain knowledge in private markets fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and/or treasury processesHigh ownership mindset; comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in a small, fast-moving founding teamEligibility to work in Germany (visa sponsorship available)Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin, GermanyNice to Have:Prior experience at a fintech, fund services, or AI/ML infrastructure companyExperience scaling systems from early design partners to production workloadsCompensation & BenefitsSalary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experienceMeaningful early-stage equityVisa sponsorship available for eligible candidatesDirect path to a senior leadership role for top performersLocationThis is an on-site role based in Berlin, Germany.
