Come explore Novanta.Business Unit OverviewThis position is part of Novanta’s Novanta Medical GmbH business unit. Specialized in the field of Minimally Invasive Medicine, Novanta Medical GmbH develops devices and accessories so that doctors can operate with small cuts. We produce Insufflators, Medical Pumps, and tubing that makes diagnosis and treatment easier for everyone. Our insufflators and pump systems dilate cavities in the body and turn previously complicated surgeries into minor procedures. Together with customers, doctors, and technical experts, our teams continuously search for new ways to innovate.SummaryThis job is responsible for the project management of product development projects as part of larger development programs. The role covers typical tasks and responsibilities of project management, including planning, monitoring, and reporting. The successful candidate will lead the development and launch of both active medical devices and single-use/disposable products, with a primary focus on disposable product technologies.Primary ResponsibilitiesManaging large-scale product development projects (NPI)Creation and monitoring of project plans, including milestone plans, COGS, project costs, and NREsReporting project status updates and project phase transitions to executive managementIdentification and mitigation of project risksGuiding the project team through individual development phasesAlignment of shared resources within R&DCoordination with Purchasing, Service, Production, Quality Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Product Management, customers, and external service providersInitiating procurement of materials for sample and prototype buildsInitiating, coordinating, and maintaining technical product documentation up to product launchEnsuring timely delivery of mandatory documents for each project phaseEnsuring fulfillment of customer expectations and customer satisfactionEscalating critical project parameters to the Program Manager and leadershipEnsuring effective internal and external communication flowAligning customer communication strategies internallyLeading cross-functional teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept through commercializationGeneral TasksImplementation of the departmental and product group strategyCoordination with other project managers on processes, interfaces and cross-sectional tasksActive participation in the innovation process & continuous improvementStrict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulationsImplementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialistRequired Experience, Education, Skills, Training And CompetenciesMin. 3 years of project management experience in a regulated industry (e.g. medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, automotive)Proven track record of leading New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through market launchExperience managing project scope, schedule, risks, budget, and product cost targets (COGS)Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external stakeholdersStrong leadership and ownership mindsetExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsFluent English languagePreferred Experience And SkillsExperience with single-use/disposable medical products (biocompatibility, sterilization, packaging, shelf-life, process validation, manufacturing transfer)Exposure to active medical devices, including software, electronics, or mechanical developmentExperience with Agile or hybrid Agile/traditional development environmentsPMP, IPMA, Prince2, or equivalent certificationFluent German language is a plusTravel RequirementsWillingness to travel up to 10% within Germany, Czech Republic and occasionally the US#Berlin#HybridNovanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
