Shape the technology strategy.We’re partnering with a pharmaceutical organisation looking for an experienced Statistical Programming & Technology Lead to build and develop its programming and technology capability from the ground up.This is much more than a traditional programming leadership role. You’ll have the autonomy to shape the team, technical environment, standards and future technology strategy.What makes this role stand out:• Build, recruit and lead the Statistical Programming & Technology team from scratch• Define the programming structure, standards, processes and quality framework• Drive technical advancement across AI, automation and data visualisation• Shape the adoption and governance of SAS Viya, alongside SAS, R and Python• Ensure high-quality, compliant SDTM, ADaM, TLF and regulatory submission outputs• Establish governance around new tools and technologies• Oversee the Statistical Computing Environment and continuous improvement initiatives• Manage CRO/FSP programming partners and external delivery• Work closely with Biostatistics, Data Management, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs and ITWhat we’re looking for:✓ 12+ years’ Statistical Programming experience within Pharma, Biotech or CRO✓ Proven programming leadership and people management experience✓ Strong SAS, CDISC SDTM/ADaM and regulatory submission expertise✓ Good understanding of ICH guidelines and clinical data standards✓ Experience building or transforming programming teams/functions✓ Knowledge of SAS Viya, R, Python, AI, automation and/or data visualisation highly desirable✓ MSc/PhD in a relevant quantitative discipline📍 Milan, Italy🏢 4 days per week in the office / 1 day remote💼 PermanentExcellent remuneration packageIf you’re a senior programming leader who wants the opportunity to create a modern Statistical Programming & Technology function rather than simply inherit one, this could be a fantastic next move.Interested?
