We’re partnering with a leading French luxury retail group going through a major transformation of its data estate. They’re moving away from legacy workloads and rebuilding their data platform around Azure Databricks - and they’re looking for an experienced freelance Databricks Data Engineer to help make it happen for a 6-month initial contract.This isn’t a maintenance contract. You’ll be hands-on with the migration, helping shape how the new platform is built and solving the engineering challenges that come with moving complex, business-critical data onto a modern Lakehouse architecture.What You’ll Be Doing:Migrating complex legacy workloads onto Azure Databricks.Designing and building scalable pipelines using Python and PySpark.Building reliable batch and near real-time workloads with Delta Lake.Helping define the architecture, engineering standards and best practices for the new platform.Connecting Databricks across Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2 and Synapse.Optimising Spark jobs and clusters for performance, reliability and cost.Improving data quality, testing and monitoring across the platform.Contributing to CI/CD and improving how data workloads move into production.Working directly with Data Analysts, Data Scientists and business teams to turn real requirements into scalable solutions.What We’re Looking For:6+ years of Data Engineering experienceStrong production experience with DatabricksProven experience delivering data migrations or platform transformationsStrong Azure experienceAdvanced Python and PySparkStrong understanding of Delta Lake and Lakehouse architectureSolid SQL skillsExperience with ADF, ADLS Gen2 and/or Azure SynapseIf this sounds like you, please apply with your latest CV and we will be in touch to discuss the role further.Sourced from LinkedIn.
