About Us / Project ContextOur DBaaS (Database as a Service) team operates a central platform for automated provisioning and management of databases across multiple environments (e.g., AWS, GCP) and various DBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL).Current setup:Database provisioning (create, modify, delete) is handled via CI/CD pipelines in GitLabA central Self-Service Portal serves as the user interface and triggers these processesThe portal also provides features like billing, data maintenance, and integration with a central data inventoryThese additional functions communicate with other systems and portals via APIsTechnical background of the existing solution:The current portal is based on an Oracle database with Oracle APEX frontendCore business logic is mostly implemented in PL/SQL within the databaseThere is an existing Node.js/microservice layer, but it primarily acts as a forwarding layer to the database logicThe existing platform is maintained and further developed internally, and this role will not be responsible for it What will you do? Develop a modern DBaaS platform in parallel with the existing system, with the goal of fully replacing it once completePort and re-implement existing functionalities into a modern, service-oriented architectureWork on a new platform based on:Node.js backend (running in Docker containers on Kubernetes / CaaS)Frontend preferably using Vue.js, React is also possiblePostgreSQL databaseDevelop and integrate API-based interfaces to internal and external systemsCollaborate on CI/CD topics with DevOps teams (not a main focus)Work closely with DevOps and cloud teams Technology / StackBackend: Node.js (JavaScript)Frontend: Vue.js (preferred), React optionalDatabase: PostgreSQLContainers & Orchestration: Docker, KubernetesCI/CD: GitLab pipelinesScripting & Data Processing: Python You will succeed if you: (Must-Have)Several years of experience as a Full Stack DeveloperStrong skills in:Node.js / JavaScriptVue.js or ReactSolid Python skills (for scripting, data processing, API integrations)Experience with:Docker & KubernetesConfident Git usage (versioning, branching strategies, code reviews)Basic understanding of CI/CD processes (GitLab preferred)Understanding of service-oriented architecturesActive use of AI tools in software development (e.g., code generation, testing, optimization) Nice-to-HaveExperience with PostgreSQLExperience with Cloud APIsPython skills (even using AI) to support data-related tasks, e.g., data processing and integrationBasic knowledge of Oracle / PL/SQL (for understanding the existing solution) Why should you choose us?
